Twenty four years ago…

He was over the moon as his wife gave birth to their first kid, a daughter. The light in her eyes cloaked the ordeal of losing a first one less than a year ago. May be the dream he had the night of their wedding is coming true: he was dancing in a circle of four little girls…

Twenty two years ago…

His wife gave birth to another baby, and it was a hard labour with a baby of about 5kgs… yes, it was another girl … he did not sleep that night. He went to his very corner as we slept, lit his cigarette and drank his cold cup of tea. He looks at the ceiling and sideaways not believing his eyes. His stars have surprises in store.

Sixteen years ago…

His wife was pregnant again, and in the week of her due date she was walking home and got a sunstrike that blown the new baby candle out and yeah… she was a girl …
His dream indeed came true and only two made it

The two girls were not only the apple of his eyes, but the air he breathes…

He helped his girls through primary school and made the journey so fun that it seemed like Disney Land. When it was time for middle school and high school, he was more like a boyfriend than a father: going to coffee shops, reading magazines, watching TV together, challenging each other on math problems, (kind of an early version of the BBT).

Six years ago…

The two girls were not only the apple of his eyes, but the air he breathes…
Suddenly, he couldn’t breath well, and his girls were ok though…
The cancer got to his lungs, shocking news to the family but apparently not to him… he has been smoking since he was fourteen…

The fight against cancer was brutal for all four of them, and the doctors finally confirmed that he had limited time to live: may be few days, few weeks or few months… no one can tell…
He had the chance to walk his first girl through her first year at the university, but could not attend the parents’ orientation session.. he was struggling to breathe and stayed all the time out of the auditorium.

It was already the sixth anniversary of his death… he missed his daughters’ graduations, his old daughter’s wedding and did not get to meet his grandchild … Two months ago…

He is not with them anymore, yet he is still the apple of their eyes and the air they breathe …
